Sara Mancini received her undergraduate degree in Health Science from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. PA Certification (PA-C) is issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). The Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) credential is a mark of professional accomplishment, indicating the achievement and maintenance of established levels of knowledge and clinical skills. The PA-C credential is widely recognized within the medical professions and beyond.

Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute trained Sara to practice Dermatology as we do. Sara joined Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute in 2005 with two years of Dermatology practice experience. She is also a physician assistant for Cirillo Cosmetic Dermatology Spa. She has expertise in treating all routine medical and cosmetic skin problems. Sara is an excellent patient educator and communicator.

Special interests include routine medical and surgical dermatology, Accutane iPLEDGE, and cosmetic dermatology.

What is a Physician Assistant?

Certified physician assistants (PA-C) are medical providers licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. Most PA-C's have a college degree and over 4 years of health-care experience prior to testing for and enrolling in a PA Certification program. Physician Assistant programs are rigorous, last 26 continuous months, and follow the Medical School educational model. To remain nationally certified, Physician Assistants must complete 100 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) every 2 years and pass a national re-certification exam every 6 years.

Physicians Assistants are authorized to prescribe medicine and most medical specialties employ PA-Cs to address routine issues. Thus, our practice improves the efficiency and availability of care without sacrificing quality.
